“If you are passionate about something, no one can stop you,” said Manvendra Shukul CEO, Lakshya Digital, while participating in a panel discussion on ‘Future Play – Gaming, Animation, VFX Tomorrow’ at the Summit of Future, organised by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in Kochi on Wednesday.

 

Shukul then outlined the growth of Lakshya Digital and the growth of gaming in India. “When we started, there was a huge shortage of talent. Then we created talent. We brought professionals from outside and then we opened our own academy,” he said.

 

On the growth of visual effects in India, Ashish Kulkarni, Founder, Punnaryug Artvision Pvt Ltd, said VFX has become an integral part of filmmaking. “Audience won’t be able to identify the difference from the original in the good visual effects,” he said.

 

Jayakumar P CEO, Toonz Media Group, urged students to thoroughly learn basics and acquire speed. “Animation is a fine balance of artistry and technology. You should come up with the PHD – passion, hunger and discipline.”

 

Philip Thomas, Country Head, World Design Council (UK) moderated the session.
