Dr A V Anoop, Managing Director, AVA Group of Companies has said that innovation can sustain only through partnership and even a small idea can change the world.
He was talking at a plenary session on ‘Building Sustainable Economy Through Innovation and Partnership’ at the JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in Kochi on Thursday.
He elaborated about how a small idea could change the world, citing the example of Medimix, a popular Ayurvedic soap his company has been producing for the last 55 years. “Most of our ancestors were Ayurveda practitioners. My grandfather produced the first batch of Medimix with a capital of just Rs 500 from the Railway Staff Quarters in Chennai in 1969.
“Our products are now available in all countries. Our stakeholders are our partners in progress,” he said.
Anoop, an award-winning film producer who produced movies such as ‘Paleri Manikyam – Oru Pathirakkolapathakathinte Katha’ and ‘Sookshmadarshini’ said he produced successful movies with the help of partnership.
Vinodini Sukumar, Managing Director, Team One Advertising Private Limited said we need to move from competition to collaboration. “It will help us produce many things needed for the future,” she said.
She said women-led startups are taking the world by storm. “There are plenty of opportunities. I urge girls to capitalise on this opportunity,” she said.
Dr Nalanda Jayadev, CEO of Aster Medicity, said health is the top priority of the world now. “But we need to address social inequity. Many people are unable to access health care. We need to look at collaborations to bridge the gap.”
Kalyan Sivasailam, Co-founder 5C Network, highlighted the qualities to become a good entrepreneur.
“The first and foremost thing is that you have to be curious. You should not feel entitled and you should have storytelling ability to generate belief,” he said.
