Kerala should capitalise on its leading position in human development indices to attain global technological leadership, suggested a panel discussion titled ‘Kerala Leads, the World Follows: Technology for All’ on the second day of the Summit of the Future, organized by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in Kochi on Monday.
Unnikrishnan K C, CEO of Xalten System, who kickstarted the session, stated that Kerala should convert challenges into opportunities to win that technological leadership role. “Kerala should follow the Netherlands model,” he said.
Sushanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infoparks, said Kerala leads in digital awareness, which shows that technology is in the hands of the people. “We will continue to empower the people which will help them reap the benefits of technology,” he said.
Debasis Das, CISO, One TATA Operating Network, said Kerala’s high level of digital awareness should come handy to start many new projects.
Describing his own life story, Mathew Joseph, COO, Fresh to Home, India’s most-trusted online fish and meat store, said one person can create history by starting a fish market. “My life is a testimony to it. All you need to succeed is to identify your passion,” he said.
Stating that Kerala has a lot of catch up, Jibu Elias, Country Head, Mozilla Foundation, said the state should capitalise on its strengths, such as tourism and healthcare. “It will help the state to become a land of future,” he said.
