‘The Summit of Future’, renowned for spotlighting advancements in technology and innovation, set a vibrant tone this year with a spectacular opening performance by the talented students of ‘Kalamandalam’. The inauguration was marked by a mesmerizing journey through India’s diverse dance heritage, leaving the audience captivated by the elegance and artistry on display.
The performance began with Kathakali, the ancient art form from Kerala, celebrated for its intricate expressions and precise gestures. The students then seamlessly transitioned through various classical and folk-dance traditions, including Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. Adding to the richness, they performed vibrant folk dances such as Gujarati Garba, Punjabi Bhangra, Rajasthani Ghoomar, and Kashmiri Rouf, showcasing the incredible diversity of Indian dance forms.

“We are well-versed in classical styles like Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, but for this program, we challenged ourselves to master folk dances from across India, including Gujarati, Punjabi, and Kashmiri traditions,” shared Krishna Priya P.V., an MA Mohiniyattam student.

As the lights dimmed and the sound of traditional Indian instruments filled the venue, the audience was transported on a cultural odyssey, witnessing the beauty of India’s dance legacy. The grand finale brought all the dancers together on stage, uniting every form into a harmonious and breathtaking spectacle—a moment that earned thunderous applause.
The students’ dedication, skill, and ability to weave India’s cultural tapestry into a single performance were truly remarkable. Their participation in the Future Summit’s inauguration offered a visual feast and served as a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s rich heritage.
