Summit of Future 2025 Enters Asia and India Book of Records

Kochi: The Summit of Future 2025, organized by Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, has secured a prestigious place in both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for hosting the largest gathering of experts addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a university setting.


The summit was marked by the participation of globally renowned thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers, making it a landmark event in the pursuit of sustainable progress. The official certificate of recognition was presented by Asia Book of Records adjudicator Harish R at the summit venue at Jain University Kochi Campus.


The event featured an exceptional line-up of 314 experts from diverse fields, including technology, ecology, human rights, literature, politics, diplomacy, education, and sustainable development. These included Dr. Richard Stallman, Founder of the Free Software Movement (Technology); Muralee Thummarukudy, Director of the Coordination Office of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (Environmental Policy); Dr. Homiyar Mobedji, Director of Programmes at Benetech (Asia & Africa) (Accessibility and Social Impact); Licypriya Kangujam, 13-year-old climate activist (Climate Action); Dr. Pradyumna Vyas, President-Elect of the World Design Organization (Design & Innovation); Apoorva Bose, International Human Rights Lawyer (Human Rights); Francesc Miralles, author of Ikigai (Literature & Well-being); Manu S. Pillai, writer and historian (History & Culture); Shashi Tharoor, politician, author, and former diplomat (Politics & International Relations); Venu Rajamony, Indian diplomat (Diplomacy); and educationist T.P. Sreenivasan (Education & Policy), among others. Their discussions and insights elevated the summit into a globally significant intellectual forum.


Inaugurated by Kerala Industry Minister P. Rajeev, the summit took place from January 25 to February 1, featuring seven thematic tracks: Future Education, Future Technology, Future Earth, Future Creative, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Future Green, and a Cultural Festival. These tracks facilitated knowledge-sharing and collaboration in fields such as education, technology, environment, renewable energy, creative arts, politics, and agriculture.


The summit transformed Kochi into a hub of futuristic ideas, with events held at Jain University Kochi Campus, Kochi Infopark, and the KINFRA International Convention Centre. Attendees engaged in summits, masterclasses, and workshops led by global experts, along with expos featuring the latest advancements in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies.


Though the summit set a new record for bringing together the largest number of experts addressing the UN’s SDGs in a university setting, it also witnessed an overwhelming response from the public, with over 100,000 participants engaging in various sessions, discussions, and expos, further solidifying its impact as a milestone event shaping Kerala’s contribution to a sustainable and innovative global future.
